Aussie election circus!

In Australia we're forced to vote. Well that's not true...we're forced to show up and get our names crossed off a list. You can vote ten times a day if you want to! So, we finally had the election we had to have...the usual spectacle masquerading as "democracy" and the usual candidates...dumb, dumber and dumbest! The faces change, but the B.S. is still the same.

I did my usual, and voted back to front and also voted for every candidate in the senate (all 84 of them!) in order of selection. This is important. If you just vote one at the top your vote is worthless. I'll been told to create a how to vote video one day! Anyway, I went home and forgot about it.

The next day I woke up and heard the news on the radio. We've got a hung parliament! For the first time in a long time, I was ecstatic about an election result. Obviously we've got a few more thinking individuals out there and they cast their vote. Boy, was I amazed! There's hope,yet.

How dopey do these guys in Canberra think we are? I know the average Aussie is pretty apathetic but we do have some morals and we're probably smarter than we look. Did they not think that there would not be any backlash as a result of the backstabbing and lies played out in the last few weeks? Was the average thinking Aussie impressed with the Coup in Canberra? I don't care who you vote for, I think it was a public disgrace and shouldn't happen to any leader.

I think "Joe Public"was probably disgusted and dissillusioned with this whole episode and this is payback time. What do you think?

Why are people so stupid??!!

Why do people buy crap? I really don't get it. If it contains artificial everything and the label lists a host of chemicals and garbage but contains no actual food, then why would you consume it!

Tragically millions have fallen for the no sugar line. If it's got no sugar, it must have something to make it sweet. What is it? Usually a chemical called aspartame...a toxic cocktail which will damage your brain cells. The air force recommends that pilots DO NOT consume artificially sweetened beverages because it may affect their judgement! Hello...anybody home!

Remember...sugar IS A NATURAL PRODUCT although very concentrated but still natural. For more info on aspartame and the damage it can do to you, check out this article.

Are our children being poisoned?

Some time ago I posted a story on the effects of Ritalin and how poisonous it is. Check it out. In the same vein I'd like to draw your attention to some more issues that are just as important.

I believe we should live as holistically and as naturally as possible. It just makes sense. Sure you can't always do it but we should do our best and teach our children the same. Ever wonder why we seem to have an epidemic of ADHD, Autism Spectrum disorders, learning difficulties, bad behaviour,etc, etc.

Well I believe it's no accident and is a direct result of all the chemicals we are ingesting, the drugs (sometimes called medicines) we are consuming, the substances (sometimes called food) we are eating and our unnatural lifestyle that we are living.

I'm not a great fan of vaccinations for children (the jury's still out on that one) and I'm definitely not in favour of the vaccines that governments and drug companies try to coerce you into having, eg; yearly flu shot, swine flu, bird flu, etc. Did you know that these vaccines contain deadly poisons such as mercury?

Did you know that researchers believe that mercury is responsible for the rise in Autism?

Did you know that plastic bottles and containers leach out chemicals which are said to "feminise" men?

Did you know that the "health food" margarine is made in factories that resemble oil refineries?

Did you know that artificial sweeteners kill your brain cells and that the air force recommends not drinking or eating anything containing aspartame for fear it may impair the pilot's judgement?

Did you know that fluoride which you drink via your water supply had been linked to ADHD and was first used by the Nazis as a way to "medicate" the population?

Conspiracy theories are everywhere. I would say there are thousands out there. Some are amusing and some are scary. Some are ridiculous.

Even though I don't dwell there, there are many with some merit and they really get you thinking.

What if?
Is it possible?
When more and more evidence gets presented sometimes they even make sense. Generally most can't be proved or disproved. It's too late for much of that.

This then leads me to observations that I have made over the past twenty years. Chances are you've made the same observations or have had many similar questions to myself. As I said...some are amusing and some are downright worrying. The next series of posts will cover many of these topics.

What happened??!!

I've been so busy doing my thing (and school holidays yet again..they seem to have these every few weeks) that I haven't had a chance to post anything for a while.

Somehow we got a new Prime Minister!

I remember driving along in my car and I nearly crashed into a tree when I heard the news! What the **#@#@++#!!! One minute we had "Kevin Bloody Oh Seven" and then in a blink, we'got a new puppet....Miss GG or is it JG. Don't know really. Who cares.

I was stunned. Did I miss the election or something?
I don't remember voting.

After a few minutes of disbelief, I settled down, calmed my nerves and began to think logically again. Momentarily, I fogot how our political system works. We've been led to believe (actually, cleverly and deliberately misled to believe) that we have an American, presidential style, political system, where in fact we do not.

We DO NOT vote for a Prime Minister. Originally we had a fantastic system...the envy of the world. We had a house of "representatives" made up of one person from each area elected by you (locally) to represent you in Canberra. Hence the name. Sadly, this system gradually got taken over by bigger and bigger gangs (loosely known as a political parties). You now vote for a gang. It doesn't matter whether or not your local "pollie" is a good bloke or not. You get the whole gang! No choice. It matters not which gang you vote for. The end result is always the same. That's democracy.

What's the old saying? "same horse...different jockey"

Anyway...who elected the PM you ask?

Each gang "elects" a "head honcho" to be the face of the gang. This is worked out in smokey back rooms but only after favours are done and deals worked out. If their gang wins the election, this "face" then becomes the PM by default.

But....you say. You had no say in it.
Exactly.

That almost explains how we got a new PM which nobody voted for. Sadly this despicable act is just too typical in today's political arena. On the basis of a few polls, a carefully orchestrated coup had taken place and a duly elected member who happens to be the bearer of the highest office in the country (Prime Minister) is deposed.

What sort of a country do we live in? Sure the media were having a frenzy. Wasn't it wonderful that we finally had a female PM. What a glorious example to the women of Australia.
Blah, blah, blah....

Don't know about you, but I saw a vey different example...one that I would not be proud of at all.

I do not recall having an election. Kevin Rudd did not lose any election nor did he even get a fair chance at one. He was the Prime Minister. If he had lost the election...then fair enough. Time for a new broom. Time to reassess. Time to reflect and to move forward.

Even though I have little regard for politicians, this is still a despicable and shameful act.

The Domain renewal group is at it again!

I just received an official looking letter asking me to renew my domain with them. Obviously it's 300% more than I would normally pay with my registrar. Otherwise why would you have a scam except to fleece unsuspecting consumers.

It comes in a business envelope with a stylised American flag in the corner, addressed to you.

Beware....do not take any action. Throw it in the bin. If the reply envelope was prepaid, I'd return it and stuff it full of garbage but I guess they've wised up to that one, so now you have to put a stamp on it. Anyway...recycle it straight away.

It's all very official looking but somewhere in fine print it actually says this is not a bill. Clever!

These clowns also use the name Domain Registry of America and have addresses in the US, UK and Australia.

Do not under any circumstances reply, send money or take them up on their offer.

93 year old female fighter pilot finally gets recognition.

I love good news stories!

During WW2 it's well known fact that women kept the wheels of industry running. With the men away fighting there was a dramatic shortfall of skilled and unskilled labour back home to keep the country going. Women everywhere (on both sides) did their bit for the war effort.

What I didn't know and found fascinating was that women were also used to fly fighter aircraft during this period. Now understand this. This was unknown territory back then. These women were pioneers and heroines. Sadly they had never been recognised until now.

(March 10) -- It's been 66 years since Violet Cowden flew fighter airplanes during World War II, but when she took to the skies recently off the coast of Southern California, it was like she was home. "It's like I never left," said Cowden, 93, who flew a light fighter plane for an hour, completing stunts that included barrel rolls and a mock dogfight with two other airplanes. "I feel more comfortable in the air than I do in a car," she told AOL News.

Cowden took the flight Feb. 26 as a prelude to an even more exciting event -- receiving a Congressional Gold Medal. As part of the dwindling group of Women Airforce Service Pilots, or WASPs, Cowden and her sisters in flight received the highest honor bestowed upon a civilian during a ceremony today at the U.S. Capitol. Although the WASPs worked for the military, they were not enlisted and their place in history has been largely ignored until now.

Us humans seem to be suffering a lot in recent times.

We're stressed, working harder and harder and achieving less and less. Many of us have a host of ailments, dis eases and emotional issues. Some of us may even be drugged up to the eyeballs! Something has to give...and it's usually us!

Don't know about you, but if you could find a solution that would help your circumstance or even change your life, I bet you'd be interested!

Imagine...More fulfilling relationships, Better performance (career, sports, academics…), Improved health, More money, Greater spiritual connection, More peace and happiness…or simply getting rid of that nagging headache.

One such modality is EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).

What is EFT?

From memory, I think it originally came from the Chinese. Nearly every type of energy work has its roots in China! It's part of their Qi Gong/Tai Chi/TCM modalities but adapted for the West. Plastic bags get a bad wrap!

We've all experienced the mania about plastic shopping bags of late. "Ban all bags!" "Charge them $1.00 a bag!" "They're wasteful!" "They're bad for the environment!" Geez...

You've probably heard them all by now. Anyway, I came across a great article IN FAVOUR of plastic bags. It's too long to reprint so I'll give you a link to it later.

I always thought they were pretty damn good. Don't know about you but I don't waste them. I know when I was a kid we didn't have them, so mum had a net type shopping bag or even a trolley of sorts for the big loads. Supermarkets had paper bags and would you believe it....cardboard boxes!

They didn't get destroyed as they do today. There was always a pile of boxes to put your groceries in so that you carry it to your car. Far easier than trying to juggle a dozen plastic bags. Who was the fool who banned boxes from supermarkets, anyway???

Some say that you should plan your journey and bring shopping bags with you and so on. Let's face it. We live in a very different era. Shopping is no longer done at 9am on Saturday morning! It is not possible to always plan for shopping. We live in a very busy and mobile world. Chances are much of the shopping is done on the way to somewhere and we may not have even intended to go grocery shopping at all.

I think this especially true for us blokes. You just remembered that you need something to eat or the wife rings up and says..."Darling, can you pick up some ------whatever on your way home?" No worries. Well, I'll just pull out my trusty, environmentally friendly bag out of my back pocket (which I keep just for these occasions), and I'll do my shopping in a planned, orderly and environmentally friendly manner!

Back to not wasting them. In our household we reuse them for everything....small bin liners, wrapping and packaging things, camping-keeps things dry/dust free, putting dirty or wet clothes in when travelling, rubbish bags, freezer bags, carry some in the car/pocket/backpack for emergencies, padding when storing or posting fragile items and much, much more.

What we don't reuse we keep in a bag and end up with a "bag of bags" which we pass on to someone who then also reuses them for packaging. The same bag could be used 2, 3 or 4 times! Try doing that to a paper bag.

The REAL "Death of Forced Continuity"!!

This is probably the biggest news story to hit the world of marketing.....ever!

If you're a marketer, especially and online marketer, your business could be in big trouble! If you have or are looking to implement any type of forced continuity program then Visa/MasterCard will shut down your merchant service. No merchant account, no business!

So, what's "forced continuity"?

You've probably seen them everywhere and may have even joined some. Whenever you get a free trial, one month's free subscription, just pay for the shipping and we'll bill you later, or any other type of enticing offer, chances are that you've been enrolled in a forced continuity program. You sign up with your credit card and get billed forever until you cancel.

This model is used everywhere, especially online and on TV. The ramifications here are enormous.

Now this is a great business model if done honestly and transparently. BUT...this rarely happens. Usually they're very quick to take your cash but veerrrry slow to cancel your subscription if you don't want it any more. I think my worst experience ever was with Time/Life. I had to hassle them on a daily basis to cancel my subscription.

Hence we are here!

What do I think about this?

Personally, I think it's part of a global shift in the way in which we live and do business on this planet (and it's long overdue). There are going to be casualties everywhere. I think it's a good thing. Sadly not all business owners are honest and compliance will force them to clean up their act or get out of business.

Forced Continuity and an avalanche of OTOs (one time offers) really p----s me off and I refuse to participate, sign up or buy anything unless I get REAL clear options. Greed has once again killed the goose!

Warning - Ritalin kills!

As a parent and former natural health practitioner, I find it amazing that parents are still being co-erced, conned and manipulated into putting their children on Ritalin. Seems that any child that is remotely active is being diagnosed as having ADD/ADHD,etc and is the perfect candidate for Ritalin.

This reminded me of our encounter with our school "counsellor" when our children first started school. This guy was a real "quack". Any child that was energetic, active, fidgety, talkative or in any way resembled an average kid, was deemed disruptive and needed a dose of Ritalin! This man really was dangerous and we have them on the school payroll! What gets me is that parents fall for all this BS and quite willingly succumb to this pressure.

What amazed me even more is that Ritalin has a chemical composition similar to meth and cocaine! On one hand we are telling our children not to take drugs and on the other we're deliberately force feeding them under the guise of therapy.

(By the way, I always tell my kids to read labels and ingredients. If it's got a complex long chemical name as in diet and lifestyle drinks, fat free and sugar free anything, then it's probably bad for you. Basically if you can't say it don't eat it or drink it.)

Recently I came across an article from Dr Sears that talks about this.

"A new study reveals that healthy kids who take Ritalin have a whopping 500 percent greater risk of sudden death. These aren’t kids with pre-existing heart conditions. The results would have been worse if they were included.

Here’s proof that what you’ve been told for decades – that Ritalin is safe for kids – couldn’t be further from the truth.

Ritalin is a stimulant. It causes the heart to beat faster. And that can lead to sudden cardiac arrest. Ritalin acts exactly like amphetamines such as crystal meth and cocaine.In spite of evidence that it could stunt their growth1, and cause irreversible brain damage2 and that it is linked to serious cardiovascular events, the FDA remains silent.

Still, the FDA refuses to take action. No new warnings are planned and prescriptions for Ritalin continue to spiral upward. Objections to the FDA’s sluggishness are even starting to appear in conservative medical journals like JAMA, the Journal of the American Medical Association. In a recent editorial, they criticized the FDA by saying the FDA is “interpreting the results cautiously.”

Plus, JAMA notes that the FDA funded and approved the design of the study. Only when the results came out did they have a problem with the design of the study. I guess the FDA didn’t like the results their own design produced.

This is the big point for all of us: Doctors hand out Ritalin prescriptions every day. And too often you aren’t told of the dangers. ADHD is still the most commonly diagnosed disorder in children.

What’s more, studies show that the drugs don’t work. The same study that found Ritalin stunts kids’ growth also found that it has no beneficial effect on behavior over a three-year period."

With the economic downturn and virtual financial collapse of the US economy, I believe there has never been a better time to invest in American real estate. There is a wholesale clearance of housing stock across America with prices plummeting over the last couple of years.

Now, we're due for the second wave of mortgage defaults and the resulting clearance of properties. This is great news if you're an investor (especially if you're cashed up!).

Time- "Man of the Year" Award

Does anyone ever take these accolades seriously?

I guess since I come from "The Land Downunder" I must be a bit different. Australians are known to be easy going, perhaps irreverent and tending to have little regard for authority or institutions. Must be the convict heritage.

So awards and general media BS have little credibility in the eyes of the average Aussie. Awards are a funny thing. I don't know who decides what is best but it always baffles me how they come up with these decisions.

For example, in Australia we have this thing called the "Wheels car of the Year". I cannot remember how many recipients of this prestigious award have turned out to be heaps of junk or downright lemons. I spent many years in the automotive industry and we had a running joke about this.

Which brings me to the current Time Magazine "Man of the Year" Ben Bernanke. Do you believe it! Surely there are more deserving recipients.

If you're politically sensitive, you'd better leave or keep reading anyway.

What can I say.
Oh well.....At Least he's in good company!

Don't know about you, but I get tired of the "do-gooders" telling me what to do and what is good and bad for me. There's always a "War on ...." just about everything. Currently we don't have any terrorists, Ayatollahs, or pandemics to worry about, so it's a war on obesity.

Anyway, I found this great article a while ago and forgot about it till now, so I decided to reprint it here. It's by Margaret Wente from "The Globe and Mail".

(What the obesity industry doesn't want you to know.)

Manhattanites have gained another reason to feel insufferably smug. This week, they learned they are the thinnest people in their state, and probably their entire country. America may be one big tub of lard, but not them. Compared to those fat slobs in the Bronx, they are paragons of fitness, health and virtue.

In Manhattan (as in the urban upper echelons of Canada, only more so), thin is a religion. It's a mark of status and prestige, not to mention ferocious dedication to fashion, dieting and working out. The thinnest people of all, no coincidence, also tend to be the richest. As the saying goes, the smaller the woman, the bigger the apartment.

Over in the chubby Bronx, social planners are raising the alarm. They're demanding more stores with fresh produce, better public transit, more parks, bans on trans fats and junk food in schools, more programs to promote physical activity, more public education about obesity, and lots more government money. In fact, the Bronx sounds an awful lot like Canada.

Thin was always in. But now, the social and public-health message is that fat is not simply a sign of sloth. It kills. The obesity epidemic is the greatest health crisis of the age. According to various health statistics (which are never consistent), between 17 per cent and 25 per cent of Canadian adults are obese. Thirty-six per cent of the adult population is overweight, or maybe two-thirds. Whatever. It's a catastrophe.

But is it?

A new study based on Statistics Canada population data reaches an exceedingly awkward conclusion: People who are overweight LIVE LONGER than people who are classified as “normal” weight. Not only that, people who are classified as significantly overweight also live longer.

The study, led by Statistics Canada's Heather Orpana, was devised to estimate the relationship between body mass index and mortality in Canadian adults. The database was nearly 12,000 people. The authors of the Canada-U.S. joint study adjusted for age, gender, smoking, physical activity and alcohol consumption. They found that the link between weight and mortality is relatively weak. The strongest finding was that underweight men are at greater risk than any other group.

But being overweight was associated with a 25-per-cent lower risk of dying. Being obese was associated with a 12-per-cent lower risk of dying. The risk for the most morbidly obese (who account for less than 3 per cent of all Canadians) was statistically the same as the risk for people of “normal” weight.

The findings were published online in the research journal Obesity. “Overweight may not be the problem we thought it was,” said David Feeny, a senior investigator at Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research in Oregon, almost apologetically. “Overweight was protective.” He added that agencies such as Health Canada might want to rethink the way they classify people's weight.

BMI - which is expressed as a simple height-weight ratio - has replaced the old insurance tables as the universal gauge for “healthy” weight. Its goalposts were recast in 1998, with the result that millions of previously healthy people were suddenly redefined as overweight. Today, a BMI of between 18.5 and 24.9 is considered “normal,” a BMI of 25 to 29.9 “overweight,” 30 to 34.9 “obese,” 35 to 39.9 “severely obese” and over 40 “morbidly obese.” By this measure, a 5-foot-4 woman is overweight at 146 pounds, obese at 175 lbs. and morbidly obese at 233 lbs. A 6-foot man is overweight at 184 lbs., obese at 221 lbs., and morbidly obese at 295 lbs. If you go by BMI, most Canadians in their 50s are too fat.

Is this study just a fluke? On the contrary. It confirms the findings of dozens of other large population studies that rarely get publicity. They all conclude that being overweight is not a problem, except at the extreme. In fact, a little extra padding is good for you.

“Decades of medical research that contradicts our popularized beliefs rarely reaches the public,” says Sandy Swarcz, the brains behind the invaluable website junkfoodscience.com, where you can find a more detailed dissection of the Canadian results.

In 2005, another researcher, Katherine Flegel, of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, published another large study with similar findings. Prominent health experts were outraged, calling the research flawed.

“There's not a lot of money in trying to debunk obesity, but a huge amount in making sure it stays a big problem,” Patrick Basham, a professor of health-care policy at Johns Hopkins University, told The Associated Press.

Researchers and public-health authorities are heavily invested in obesity. So are major drug companies, which help fund influential bodies such as the International Obesity Task Force. The Canadian Obesity Network, which gets millions in government funding, lists dozens of leading drug companies as its “industry partners.”

Here's more bad news for all those folks who are nagging us about our weight. The evidence is very clear that, unless you are morbidly obese with health problems, losing lots of weight is bad for you, not good.

For reasons that are not well understood, people who lose substantial amounts of weight, or go up and down on yo-yo diets, suffer long-term adverse health effects. Oprah is an absolutely terrible role model, along with all the folks featured on America's Biggest Loser.

As one expert told Newsweek, “People show an improvement in short-term risk factors [blood pressure and blood sugar levels], but they die. I don't think that's a good outcome.”
So who are the healthiest people of them all?

Dear reader, they may well be people just like you - aging boomers who have reluctantly succumbed to middle-aged spread. Reubin Andres of the U.S. National Institute on Aging reviewed all the major population studies and found that people who gain a pound or so a year in middle age live the longest.

That extra weight is protective, especially for women. So relax. God doesn't want you to fit into your old jeans.

I am now obliged to add that none of this excuses bad eating habits or sloth. Diet and exercise - especially exercise - are clearly linked to health. But unless you are unusually thin or extremely obese - categories that describe less than 5 per cent of all Canadians - your weight doesn't matter too much. Despite the alleged obesity epidemic, our life expectancy continues to increase, and deaths by heart attack and stroke continue to decline.

Sadly, we're not likely to see headlines any time soon that say, “Ninety-five per cent of us have weight that is okay.” Not when we're all convinced that socially, if not medically, we're too fat, and that we'd be vastly better off if only we could shed those extra 20 or 30 or 40 pounds.
So just remember this: Those fashionably anorexic Manhattanites are the ones we envy. But the people in the Bronx will have the last laugh.

Beware of "The Who's Who Fax Scam"

Faxes are a bit old hat now but are still a handy bit of equipment for certain situations. Anyway I don't use it much so I never have any paper loaded in it. That's probably a good thing!

I don't have to put up with junk faxes. But, the other day I got a beauty.
Get this. It was from the "Who's Who of Executives, Professionals & Entrepreneurs".

Geez...I feel real important now.

I proceeded to read this fax and it sounded real official like, asked me to complete my details and I'd get a free listing in this you beaut directory. I'd be a star!

Hmmm. Me smells a rat.

I don't remember enquiring or subscribing to anything so I got onto Google and did a quick search and found out it was a scam as suspected.

Here's what gave it away...

It sounded like bullshit
It sounded too official
It had no contact details other than a FAX NUMBER.
It asked for all of my contact information yet didn't give out any!
It had the same signatory as other scam faxes....editor Jennifer Conner/alias Crowley or whatever

Anyway, seems that the idea is that you hand over all of your contact info with the free listing carrot and then they try and sell you a "premium listing " for a sizable fee. What usually happens is that once you respond with your personal info, it gets sold to other list scammers and you end up getting more of this garbage. So, beware.

Oh well. I felt important for a minute or two.

Good question, Joe!

You may not be broke but chances are that you, like the average person, is just surviving and will never be able to improve their situation or get wealthy.

Why is that?

It boils down to the way in which we have been educated (or de-educated!) and the habits we have formed. Basically we are all a product of influence. Yup. Me too. Every day we are influenced or trained to behave, think or perform in a certain way. When you wake up to that fact, then you can make changes and start running you life.

It all starts in school and the way in which we are "educated" to prepare for the workforce. Notice that nobody is prepared for business or entrepreneurship!

Australian government steals farmer's land!!!!

Seems like the "lucky country" is in serious trouble.

Your property rights may very well be null and void. Apparently "big brother" in Canberra can prevent you from working or doing anything to your land (especially if you're a farmer!), effectively sending farmers broke, in order to participate in the ETS/global carbon credits circus. That's "poli-speak" for another scheme to steal more of your money.

Apparently Kevin Rudd is strutting the international stage at Kyoto and Copenhagen branding himself a hero, yet people in Australia are losing their land to fund this fiasco. This is unbelievable!

In recent global survey, Australia was rated as one of the best places in the world to live mainly due to the ease with which we can do business and our exemplary property rights! I think we have to re-assess that one.

Aussie farmer, Peter Spencer is perched high on a tower and is currently on a hunger strike and has been for some eighteen days now. he is doing this to draw attention to the plight farmers and landowners around Australia and the loss of rights and freedoms of the Australian people. Yes folks...this has the potential to affect all of us.

A Legend passes....

It is with great regret that I write this today for we have lost a significant human being....a man who has literally not only influenced but transformed the lives of millions of people all over this planet.

I speak of Jim Rohn.

Jim is the name behind the names. I don't think there is a person alive in the personal development industry who was not mentored or influenced by Jim in some way. When I research things, I like to trace my way back to the source. Jim Rohn was the Source for our times.

I discovered Jim's teachings some years ago when I was involved in the network marketing industry. I had never heard of him! Do you believe that? Somehow I got hold of a used paperback by Jim Rohn and read it. It was amazing. His style of delivery and the way in which he conveyed simplistic everyday wisdom was extraordinary. His energy permeated his writing and I felt as if Jim was sitting right next to me.

There was no fluff. Just pure gold. I read that book again and again along with many others. I listened to some of his tapes and today we can get hold of Jim anywhere in the world through YouTube and mp3s. It's amazing.

I think many quotes and one liners used by speakers everywhere can be attributed to Jim Rohn. The reason they are quoted so often is that they are filled with pure Zen style wisdom that only Jim could come out with. To make the complicated simple is extremely difficult and Jim was a master at it.

His lessons were not just for business but lessons for life. Jim has influenced me probably far more than I even realise. He is now influencing my children! I think his videos should be shown in every school. (Check out my previous post on being broke and stupid. It's a great video and your kids will get a kick out of it too!)

Climate Change Fraud

The scientific consensus that mankind has caused climate change was rocked yesterday as a leading academic called it a “load of hot air underpinned by fraud”.

Professor Ian Plimer condemned the climate change lobby as “climate comrades” keeping the “gravy train” going. In a controversial talk just days before the start of a climate summit attended by world leaders in Copenhagen, Prof Plimer said Governments were treating the public like “fools” and using climate change to increase taxes.

He said carbon dioxide has had no impact on temperature and that recent warming was part of the natural cycle of climate stretching over billions of years.

Well.... all I've got to say is...what's new! I'm sure that the average thinking individual with a basic primary school education can work it all out for themselves. After all, people aren't as dumb as they used to be and we do have the Internet. I don't mean to sound cynical, but when there's a lot of lobbying and government interference, it usually means that some stands to make a great deal of money somewhere.

Housing Boom ahead!??!

The "experts" out there are already spruiking the beginnings of the next housing boom. Better get in now before it's too late!

Is there any truth in this or is this more B.S.?
Well, let's have a look at some facts, do some analysis and use some old fashioned common sense.

As always, certain sectors of the market are always doing OK. These are usually confined to certain areas of the major capital cities...Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Big deal.

The stimulus package has run its course and the First Home Sellers Grant is over. Once people stop giving away free money, there'll be a reduction in newcomers to the market.

But there's a housing shortage! That's what the experts say. Bullshit. Excuse the language. I'm tired of hearing this one.

There are plenty of houses out there. Unfortunately, most of them are not where people want to live or work! They're always built in the middle of nowhere and people are expected to spend twenty hours a week commuting. Those who refuse to do this end up paying exhorbitant rents in areas that actually need the housing. Back to supply and demand. Rents go up, blah, blah, blah.

Fact: the Australian housing market has been artificially propped up for many years now thanks to a lot of Government interference and lots of behind the scenes deals with interested parties.

Fact: China, our best buddy, hasn't had a big crash yet. If and when it does, watch out.

Fact: Banks are reliant on raising capital from other sources overseas so that they can lend to you and me. Their sources have dried up and cost of raising capital is going up. Want easy money? Good luck!

Fact: Australia is one of the most expensive countries in the world for home ownership.

Fact : Australia seems to only have two industries...housing and mining! The reliance and obsession with this is bordering on idiotic and is dangerous. It's a bit like America's obsession with Wall Street....and look where that got us!

As far as I'm concerned, this is a giant deck of cards waiting to collapse. When and whether it will is anyone's guess. All it would take is some unusual and unexpected occurrence to send it all crumbling.

So, what are my qualifications?
I can honestly say, I don't have any!

I don't know if that's good or bad, but it does give you different perspective. All I can offer you are my observations based on over twenty years of involvement in property at all levels. I've been a landlord, a tenant, owner/occupier, investor, developer, whatever. I think I've worn every hat. I've made money and lost some too!

I've attended all sorts of property, "wealth" and "investment" seminars, met some good people and some sharks. There's a lot of B.S. out there. I've met, associated and had dealings with all types of people within this industry...and it is an industry. Many people have a lot to gain and a lot to lose.

I must be on lost of mailing lists, 'cause I keep getting mail and phone calls from all sorts of wankers trying to educate me on wealth creation. Occasionally, I invite them round for coffee to play with them or to see if anything's changed in the world of investment advice/wealth creation.

Of course I'm not disappointed as another commission based sales person walks toward the front door. Obviously, if they were wealthy, they wouldn't be sitting in my lounge room wasting my time with outdated sales techniques.

Back to property...

As I've said for a long time now, according to the Common Sense Index, Aussie housing prices are outrageously overvalued. There really is a limit to what people can afford. Anyone who tells you different is probably trying to sell you real estate!

This is a very complicated equation and there are many, many factors as to why this is so. We don't have the space to go into it here.

For those who like to gamble, I believe there will be some strategic gains in the short term but be prepared for more pain for the average punter.

If you're a serious investor, you probably already know that you make your money when you buy. That's the best advice I can give you.

I just came across a book called Put More Cash in Your Pocket and decided to buy it.

This is a classic, so pay attention....

I clicked on a link which took me to a great sales page.

By great, I mean it was slick, modern and video focused as well as having traditional text on the page. Now, I don't know what would happen if I didn't buy but I decided to purchase and before I could complete my order I got the expected OTO (one time offer or upsell/cross-sell/etc). That's fine. It's good business practice.

I just wanted the book and said no thanks.

I got another OTO for another product.

I said no thanks and then got another OTO.
Yes, a different one!

OK.

I thought surely by now I'll get the product.

Guess what?

Yep! Another OTO for another product. By this time I was getting really p-----d!

I was thinking this can't be for real. Maybe it's a mistake or the page has been hijacked. This is really ridiculous and p----g me o--!!! (Sorry about the language!)

There is a fine line between good sales technique alienating the hell out of your customers. Remember, I was actually a NEW CUSTOMER with lots of potential. I was stuck and really annoyed. I paid, so I couldn't go back but persisted and had to move forward to the product.

Anyway, yet another OTO!

I think by the time I got to the end, there were something like SEVEN OTOs!!!

In keeping with this blog's theme ("The Insider's Report" - what they don't tell you!), I thought I'd publish some comments on the very topical Swine Flu. As a former natural health practitioner, I'm somewhat split on the topic of vaccines in general. There are valid arguments of both sides of the fence.

BUT...yes..but, ever noticed how every year the medicos and drug companies have a big push for flu vaccinations? They say that just about everyone is at risk every winter and should be vaccinated! Give me a break! Who stands to make a fortune here? Sorry for the cynicism but you gotta ask questions.

Similarly, every few years, there's another Asian flu, bird flu, swine flu, cow flu, chicken flu...whatever! Is this for real or do they concoct this?

I receive some great stuff in my Inbox sometimes...so I thought I'd pass this on about the Swine Flu....

The swine flu virus has dominated the news
over the last few months. For this reason,
I hesitated to mention yet one more thing
that could contribute to public fear and
hysteria ...

....but what I'm about to tell you is too
IMPORTANT to ignore.

There's some bad news .. and some good
news.

First, the bad news.

By now, you've heard that...

==> Up to half of the U.S. population is
expected to become infected with the swine
flu virus this flu season

swine flu

According to German lung specialist
Wolfgang Wodarg (who is also the chairman
of the health committee in the German
parliament and European Council), the
swine flu vaccine's nutrient solution
contains CANCEROUS cells from animals.

This has raised the question as to whether
injecting such cancer cells into the human
body would increase a person's risk of
contracting cancer!

In addition, the general public has had
serious concerns as to whether the fast-
tracked vaccine is SAFE and EFFECTIVE --
since it's being rushed to market without
the appropriate testing and safety
evaluations.

According to research reported in the
August 25 issue of the British Medical
Journal...

.... more than 50% of doctors and nurses
in public hospitals would refuse the H1N1
vaccine because they're concerned about
its side effects, and have doubts about
its efficacy.

And according to a Fox News poll
conducted in August, the MAJORITY of
Americans now believe that the swine flu
vaccine may be DEADLIER than the swine
flu virus itself.

So what's the GOOD NEWS?

Today an expert validated what I've said here and have been saying for many years now, ie; Australian house prices are unsustainable and have to fall.

Professor Quintin Grafton of Australian National University makes the point - prices can't grow infinitely higher than incomes.

"I wouldn't be surprised if overall we get a 20 per cent decline in nominal house prices over about the next two years," Grafton says. "First home buyers who don't have much of a deposit and can barely afford their mortgage payments on the current interest rates, they'll be in trouble."

"Ultimately," he says, "house prices have to be related to the ordinary prices that we pay for other goods and services and our incomes. In the past decade, house prices have gone up about 50 per cent in terms of that ratio. That is not sustainable, and certainly won't be sustainable as the recession bites."

Bank CEO gives away the bank!

Let's face it. Bankers don't have a very good rep. And deservedly so. After creating a system that built on greed and incompetence and rewarding themselves for the privilege of "looking after" our money, many now face hard times and are crying to the Government for help.
Boo hoo!

In the face of that, it's nice to hear that there are still some decent individuals out there with old fashioned principles who actually care about their company, their customers and their employees. After all, these people are responsible for the business. How obvious is that?

Perhaps there's a lesson here for all of those high flying CEOs who pay themselves outrageous sums of money for getting our economy to where it is today. Anyway, when Leonard Abess sold a majority stake in Miami-based City National Bank, he did something very unusual. He took $60 million of that money and gave it out as bonuses to 399 current bank employees and 72 former employees!

How to go broke fast!

Ever heard this classic quote in business...

"I'll make it up in volume!"

Famous last words. In fact that's probably what every bankrupt business owner once said.

So why do businesses go broke or disappear?
Basically because they're not making money!

In this harsh economic climate it's quite easy to see this evolving. The ads are everywhere. Sale, sale sale. Big discounts everywhere. Keep dropping your price and it's a race to the bottom from which there is very little chance of escape.

Yeah...but why?
OK. Here goes...The top three reasons are:

Declining gross margins, usually as a result of discounting
Wages as a percentage of sales increasing.
Sales volume increase or is increasing! This one happens a LOT.

When any one or even all of these three conditions happen simultaneously, you could be in big trouble.

Sounds a bit complicated. Let me explain...

Fred's business is in difficulty and is having trouble paying its bills. It needs more cash. Fred has a "light bulb" moment and says..."we need to make some more sales!". What's the first thing the average person does? They have a sale!!! What happens when they have a sale? They discount. What happens next? Sales usually go up! Great!

What happens then?
The sales volume has increased, things look great, but their profit margin has actually gone DOWN. Now think about this. If the product is discounted by 20%, have their costs such as wages decreased by 20%? I bet not.

The profit margin has been slashed. One more thing happens. This increase in turnover costs something.Yup. More work! Or...more work done by more people over a greater period of time. Yet again the costs have increased. People get annoyed. Service drops off. Quality goes down. Blah,blah,blah.

Can you see this spiralling out of control?

I've been getting a lot of great stuff in my inbox lately. I'd like to share it with you as soon as I can but first let's look at media credibility again and how that is related to what I received in my inbox today.

The mainstream media is pretty low on my credibility list and I rarely watch or read anything the Average Joe does. If you want to be boring, broke and miserable, do what the Average Joe does! The proof is everywhere.

Anyway...what's wrong with the media?

It runs on BS and sensationalism fed by the advertising dollar. What's the motto..."Never let the facts get in the way of a good story". The days of journalism equalling credibility are long gone. Now they're in the entertainment business.

Back to the story...
I received an email from Michael Senoff. He markets the Art Hamel business course and he relayed the story of an interview he had with Art Hamel. Art spoke of his adventures with "Forbes magazine". Here goes...

If it's sensationalist, criminal, deceitful, depressing, immoral or anything else negative then it's bound to get a run on prime time TV. And you watch this stuff?

No more economic or crisis talk for a while. In a previous post I mentioned that the world need a good cleanout, not only economic, but in the way we think and live our lives. I sincerely believe that we are in a time of great opportunity to create a radical shift in our society. Sure there'll be some pain but there's always pain with change.

In a survey taken a few years ago, 80% of people were unhappy with their jobs. Is it any wonder we are where we are. What is the effect of all this unhappiness? Could you life actually be better and more fulfilling than it currently is?

I realise we live in a free enterprise capitalist, country but where does the lunacy end. Who is responsible for the economic fall out from simple decisions made in good faith by ordinary individuals.

In the news yet again, is the topic of losses to investments by Councils (our local governments) in Australia. For some reason a large chunk our money, yes OUR money (remember, governments don't have any money) has disappeared and may never be seen again. Why?

Well, these clowns take "independent" advice from financial and investment gurus (known here as salesmen or sharks). Do you believe that? Why don't they put the money in the bank?

Anyway, seems like these "experts" have steered virtually every Council in Australia into "sophisticated" investment products such as US based sub-prime loans, derivatives and God knows what else.

How did they manage that anyway?

Sophisticated is another word for speculative or even simpler, gambling or to put it in English something you should NOT be involved in unless you're a professional investor. You won't find one of these on every street corner. Chances are there aren't too many on Councils either!

Now some Councils are suing in a vain attempt to get their money back. Good luck! More of OUR money gone. Last I heard Lehman Brothers has gone bust and many other firms have or are going to disappear. I guess that means that all the money they've taken from us over the years and all the developer contributions have gone missing. I'm sure you can work out what that means.

So, how do you pick good investments or even investment vehicles?

Well, even if you're very knowledgeable it can be difficult. Perhaps read the prospectus or even check the accounts. Maybe there could be a few clues. Guess again.

The fact is, accounting is a rubbery art and figures can be made to look good or bad. It just depends on your perspective. You really need to dig deep...very, very deep. On the subject of accounting...did you know that derivatives are used because they don't have to appear on balance sheets? Do you believe that? Imagine leaving millions of dollars off the balance sheet.

Complicated language is used to disguise the truth and to confuse the buyer. Who wants to look silly? Instead we act silly and make decisions about that which we know nothing about.

Surely there's someone we can trust?

I know! What about the ratings agencies? Surely a AAA rating means security. Guess again.

Did you know that the companies that get rated pay the ratings agencies for their service? Do you believe that??!!! There are even insurances that can be taken out to boost your rating! Talk about a corrupt system.

Moral of the story: The only investment advice you should take is your own. You need to know what you are buying, so you'd better get educated. You certainly can't leave it to the experts. It could cost you everything!

More on the Aussie housing crisis

My suspicions are pretty spot on. I commented the other day that the next area to watch would be the commercial property market. Seems I'm correct.

Looks like the global credit crunch will some time soon affect Australia. I read a report today that something like 18% of the commercial property debt is owed to foreign banks (not too bad) but around 70% of real estate investment trusts are indebted to overseas lenders. Alarm bells should be ringing here!

The submission from The Property Council concludes that the withdrawal of foreign finance from the Aussie commercial property market will have will impact on, "jobs, superannuation benefits, small businesses, housing and social investments, and mum and dad investors."

I hate bad news but we need to look at the facts.

Chances are you won't get them from the government or from TV. Remember, if it's on TV, it's already too late. The guys on TV are the last to know. You need to be very observant , well read, and a bit of insider info doesn't hurt, to work out what's really going on.

The Western economies are in deep trouble. The US has trillions in debt (with more to come!), the European countries aren't too healthy either and their Asian brothers are feeling the pain as well. China....well that's a whole new ball game.

Since China relies on Westerners to buy all of those "do-dads" and virtually every other consumer item, they're also going to be heading for a big crash. The only problem is that the official party line coming out of China is that they're still forecasting growth of 8%.

That's BS! Remember, China is still a Communist country, so you wont get any facts too soon. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to work out that if the Westerners are broke and not buying Chinese goodies, China will be hit very, very hard. Not only have they had massive growth economically and in infrastructure, they still have a hefty bill from the Olympics.

They have a water crisis, a mineral crisis, a pollution crisis, factories are closing and millions of people are being laid off with nowhere to go. Remember, people left the land to work in all the new factories. The other Asian nations will be similarly affected (although not as bad) and Japan...they're still in a recession and have been for 20 years.

The Yanks have created this massive Hollywoodised consumer crazed culture that we have adopted. What happens when this bubble bursts? We have the results now, only the ramifications are far greater if things go down the tube. If all the big boys go down, people will be out of work. If people are out of work they don't have any money to spend, so we end up in a downhill spiral.

Where does it end? I don't know.

What will happen? Who knows.

I'm just playing out possible scenarios but I don't see any miracles over the next few years.

What happens when countries go broke or are impoverished?

History tells us that...

they print more money (and keep printing and keep printing)
they go to war (the people must be distracted or united, so war's always a good option for politicians in trouble and with nothing too lose)

Housing crisis - is the end near?

As far as I'm concerned, I don't think we've hit rock bottom as yet. The gurus on TV may tell you otherwise.

The US and the UK are still in a mess and will be for some time. The spin off from this is that all those pretty little developments in Europe, (eg; Spain, Portugal and the like) designed to tempt middle aged Brits with bulging wallets are going to really feel the pinch. The ramifications are enormous.

Why don't the Poms come to Australia anymore?

Anyway...its a great time to buy real estate in America (if you're cashed up!). In the land of OZ, things are a bit different. The market has dropped a fair bit but things are holding steady. The experts tell you that the market's picked up again but that's only thanks to Big Kev's handouts to first home buyers. Of course this can't go on forever but will have to in order to artificially sustain the market.

My personal opinion is that real estate is too expensive in Australia. Way too expensive! Something will have to give one day. Ever since your friendly government has gone out of the business of government, (ie; roads, infrastructure, education, hospitals, etc) the costs have been passed on to the developer. And guess what? They pass on the costs to you. Also, since the government has squandered all of your hard earned cash, it tries to steal some more every time a house is built or sold. The real cost of housing should be about 40% less.

Funnily, since no one can afford to buy houses anymore, the government had killed its own cash cow! No wonder they're crying poor.

What's next? I'd be keeping an eye on the commercial sector. Cenrto down the tubes, Lend Lease not looking brilliant and the world's largest mall builder, Westfield quite possibly in trouble. Their MASSIVE development in London is looking pretty empty and many projects in the US are cancelled or on hold. I guess the outcome depends on how much money they owe. Time will tell.

The spin off will be interesting. the housing sector is a big industry and a big employer. Similarly with the auto industry. With every major manufacturer in deep doo-doo, times are very testing. If the big boys go down, millions of people will suffer. It's like a deck of cards waiting to fall.

Could be a good time to buy a car too!

Ever wondered where they get all this money? Billions and trillions of dollars...

Fact is, banks (and governments) are the only ones who are allowed to create money out of thin air. If you or I did it, we'd be in jail! The whole system is a bit of a confidence trick, an illusion. To explain it far better that I could, check out this video.

The real discussion of what money is, is a whole topic on its own and better left for another day. Anyway, enjoy the video. It's interesting but don't get too tangled up worrying about the economy. There's more to come later.

Seriously though, here's the REAL stimulus package.

Firstly, governments need to stop trying to resurrect these corpses. Have you noticed that only BIG businesses and banks get free money and bailouts (mainly in the US at the moment). If you're a small or medium business owner you get shafted. Remember, the money is reserved for the incompetents that caused this in the first place. These guys must have given big political donations!

As I've said before, the economy needs a good cleanout and a shake up resulting from the bad business practices and voodoo economics. Let it bleed a bit, clean out the debts and balance sheets and start afresh.

Scrap the tax system and begin again. Tax is the biggest burden we have. Ask anyone who's taxed! Fact is....the government has no money. The only money it has, is the money it steals from you! If it was actually used wisely and purposefully, most people wouldn't mind contributing...a little.

Ban political parties from government. These GANGS (and that IS what they are...gangs!) operate like any other gang and looks after itself. There are deals done, favours paid back and immoral acts committed. They are power hungry and feed on greed, self interest and weakness. They fight and argue and have a common enemy (sometimes it's even the other party, not just between themselves!). They will have you believe that the two party system is the cornerstone of democracy but in reality, there are no alternatives and there is really only one party (ask anyone who tries to stand as an independent). When the elections are over, they just swap shirts and start over!
The Government should go back to doing the job of Government (that is to provide services and infrastucture that we can't) instead of selling, squandering and deliberately running down our property. Yes, it is our property. How can the Government sell what is already ours? If it doesn't want to do this , it should shut up shop and just hand everything over to private enterprise.
Encourage Australian manufacturing, education and entrepreneurship through policy, taxation and incentives.
Make banks and executives of publically listed companies accountable.
Stop relying on the big three industries: housing, hospitality/tourism and taxation. Surely we can be more creative and actually produce something of value. My guess is that many have, only to leave to go off shore because its jut too hard here.
Scrap the Federal Reserve and its counterparts.
Minimise government and remove bureaucracy at all levels of government. Come to think of it...remove some levels of government. Think of the money we'd save!

Unless you've been asleep at the wheel, we've had our yearly dose of bush fires yet again. This time with disastrous and tragic results in Victoria.

It seems that we take it in turns and each state has its turn for a disaster. Some years ago, it was the ACT and before that NSW. This seems to be a cycle that we perpetuate because we don't follow the advice of our elders, ie; experienced farmers and firefighters of many generations, and of course the aborigines who all did regular burn offs to clean up the bush.

Ever since the "do-gooders" have been in charge and have permeated all levels of government, all wisdom, knowledge and common sense has been left behind. As usual we see a myriad of "experts" and self centred politicians parading before the media and telling us that it's all our fault because of climate change.

This is "poli-speak" for cover your backside and blame something bigger than yourself that nobody really understands, because you didn't have the guts or will to take action previously.

Why is it that technology has improved, equipment levels have improved, training has improved, communication has improved, inter department co-operation has improved and yet the damage and carnage following a bushfire is getting worse????

You don't need a university degree to know that eucalyptus trees are extremely dangerous and are extremely combustible. Living in the bush is like living next to an oil refinery (a eucalyptus oil refinery!). Imagine a fire in an oil refinery.

Strangely enough we have tree preservation orders on native trees and of course eucalypts. It's illegal to remove anything without permission. If you risk protecting your own family, you're a criminal! If you're lucky, you might escape with a $100,000 fine for your trouble. Who's the lunatic here? The person protecting his property of the Council implementing these policies?

Wanna have a controlled burn off? Good luck! Go and apply to some bureaucrat and await your approval some years down the track (if you're the lucky one!). Meanwhile, the forest fuel is growing and the eucalypts are rapidly regenerating. They do that very quickly.

And for some strange reason, the government encouraged mass plantation of pine trees in Canberra. Hello??? Pines are great burners too because they're loaded with aromatic oils. Now if you wanted to remove all these hazardous trees from around your property and replace them with beautiful, leafy, European, deciduous trees, you could end up in jail!

Don't get me wrong, I love the Australian bush and I adore trees but you need to plant appropriately for the circumstance.

After every major disaster we have yet another Royal Commission or some other sort of enquiry. After the Canberra bush fires, there were many worthwhile recommendations put forward that any sensible individual with a fifth grade education could see was valid. Were they ever implemented?

No.

One of the major causes of the fire was the build up of fuel on the forest floor. Has anything been done about this on a national scale?

No.

Another major recommendation was a national fire strategy. Has this been done?

No.

Many years ago, a man by the name of Bob Whitehead and owner of RFW ( an Australian truck manufacturing company that could produce anything for any purpose---probably long gone by now) put forward a proposal to the governments to produce purpose built bush fire trucks that were virtually indestructible and safer than anything offered anywhere in the world. Made in Australia!

The government said no.

A number of years ago, somebody put forward a proposal to purchase a number of special purpose fixed wing aircraft with huge water carrying capacity suitable for water bombing fires.

The government said no.

More recently numerous proposals have been put forward to purchase a number of Erickson Skycrane helicopters. You know,"Elvis".

The government said no.

Why am I saying all this?
To get you thinking and remembering.

Soon we'll have politicians parading in the media looking solemn and sincere, telling us how we must never let this happen again. Things will be done....changes made....enquiries had.

Will this happen again?

Guaranteed.

It may not be in your backyard, but it'll be someone else's turn. Lives will be lost, property destroyed and our brave volunteers will put their lives on the line again, perhaps unnecessarily. I also predict that some intelligent individual will force all new dwellings to be bunkers!

Will anything change? I doubt it. The next enquiry will drag on until everybody forgets and the cycle will continue. Gutless politicians and self serving "do-gooders" will always get their way because we do nothing. Someone once said, "we get the government we deserve".

Write to your local member and demand action. Write...don't email. NO ONE reads emails. A deluge of paper is far more effective than a full inbox. Let your feelings be known.

It's Friday the 13th but......good news!

The economy is not dead!

Sure, it's a bit shell shocked and it's bleeding but it's not dead. In fact, it'll never be dead. At the moment it's going through a transitional change and it's getting a clean out.

Get this!
Nothing has disappeared. Everything is still there.

What has happened is that the MONEY HAS MOVED. And I would say,as a consequence, the control has moved. Follow the money. There are and will be opportunities everywhere.

If you really think about it, people will still have to buy stuff, no matter what the state of the economy and people will still want to buy stuff even if it's to make them feel better.

I'll give you a personal example.

I'm currently rebuilding/renovating a house and I don't mean engaging a builder/contractor, I mean, I am...as in, me. Consequently, I'm spending everywhere. I need to buy tools, materials, equipment, supplies,etc, etc. I need stuff and occasionally, the odd helper. It's a massive job.

Did I have to do it?
Yes...No.
Fact is, we have to live somewhere and pay someone.

The kids have started another school year and that requires clothes, uniforms, books, bags, fees, activities, transport, etc. We still have to eat, drive, pay utilities, rates, water, whatever.

So as you can see, nothing has changed. WE still have to spend the money, regardless of the economy. My guess, that I'm not alone. There are probably millions and billions just like you and me.

My advice?

Stop watching TV. Stop reading the newspapers. These guys are making a packet out of creating and spreading misery. The days of serious, credible, journalism are long gone. It's about ratings and selling advertising and BS. That's it. They don't give a damn about you, so wake up!

Get on with your life. Make plans and get creative. The time is ripe for entrepreneurs.

There has never been a better time to start a business.
There has never been a better time to invest.
There has never been a better time to make changes in your life.

Those that do will reap the rewards.

TV blamed for latest crisis.

Let's face it. How many good news stories have you seen lately?

Your "friendly" TV is giving you regular doses of negativity which really does affect you, especially if you watch it on a regular basis. Our minds are like a sponge and what we are fed, we absorb. This does not just relate to "facts" but more importantly the emotion behind these so called "facts" fed to us by the media.

Do you wake up and turn on the news? Do watch the business news? Do you watch news and current affairs programs when you get home? Do listen to the radio while you drive to work? Do you listen to the traffic reports?

Phew!
I'm worn out and the day hasn't even begun!

At the moment, we're in a crisis. Every day there's another one. Every channel has a continuous stream or crises and it seems a never ending and growing on a global scale. I don't need to report them here. It would take much too long and I'm sure you've heard enough already.

Don't be a Bad News Bear. You really don't need to watch listen or read the mainstream media as much as you do. Give it a try. You'll be amazed at the difference.

The marketing executives will tell you differently...

You're too fat. You need to go on my diet or buy my product.
You're ugly but you'll look better if you buy this product.
You're not intelligent enough. Listen to me and you'll get smarter!
You need to be informed.
The public has a right to know.
You have to buy the right product, have the right look, wear the right clothes, buy the right car, live in the right neighbourhood and even have the right body!

Give me a break!
How stupid do these people think we are?

Well, sorry to tell you...evidence suggests that the average person is pretty stupid. Stupid may not really be the right word but perhaps hypnotised may be a more appropriate term. As a result their actions become stupid.

Combine the average TV experience with the news and we have a recipe for disaster.
No wonder we have so many crises.

As I've said before, take control of your life. Turn off the idiot box and create the life you really want. You wont find it on TV.

Don't worry, we're in a time of transition and what is happening is part of a natural cycle. Just as Nature has cleansing cycles so does the business world.

If we keep interfering, the pain will be prolonged. As you may have noticed, there have massive financial bailouts for large corporations and nationalisation of banks and assets. This obviously can't go on forever so it will be interesting what will develop.

Finally, a point to ponder on.

Billions of dollars have been wiped off balance sheets. But what has really changed? The same buildings still exist. The same people are still around. We still have shops and cars and houses and planes and parks and trees and all things that were there on Friday were still there on Monday. And we're all still alive.

In reality, what has changed?

It really is an illusion.

Who can you trust now?!!??

As Bob Dylan says..."the times they are a changing!"

Never been truer words. We live in an era of accelerated change never before experienced by any generation. The advice and words of wisdom of the past may no longer be relevant. They may even be dangerous. The people and institutions we previously trusted or relied on can no longer provide us with answers or meet our needs.

Advice given to us by teachers and parents may today be irrelevant. Previously respected people and institutions such as churches, governments, policemen, politicians, employers, big companies, bankers, TV, doctors, lawyers, journalist, financial advisers, investment experts, academics, the media, drug companies, charities, hospitals, etc,etc, etc, can no longer be trusted or relied upon. The list grows daily.

The current economic climate has really exposed some sad truths.
So who can you trust? Who can you rely on.

Fact is you can't rely on the government...they're incompetent, broke and getting broker. And by the way...they don't have any money. They only money they have is the money they steal from you or money they borrow but you have to pay back!

You can't rely on banks. They're greedy and now paying the price.

You cant' rely on investment experts and Wall Street. They're just like used car salesmen flogging outrageous products to unsuspecting consumers (you and me!) for a hefty commission.

You can't rely on your boss. He could be out of business tomorrow.

You sure as hell can't rely on your pension check being there when you retire.

So....that leaves YOU!

Yes, folks. It's time to wake up. You have to be in control of your life and your future. the good news is that you can trust yourself. It's time to get educated and to take control .

You don't need highly paid experts. In fact most experts are just salesmen anyway. You'd be shocked how little they really know.

With the Internet, almost anything is possible for the average Joe. We may be going through a crisis, but never before have opportunities been greater. You have access to so much information and it's possible to connect with people all around the globe. Business opportunities are everywhere.

People need help.

When people need help, there's money to be made!

Take the entrepreneurial challenge and create a new life for yourself.

Nobody Home?!!

Welcome!

For those that know me, I've been predicting the current economic disaster for some years now. Not because I'm a conspiracy theorist or or have a negative or cynical personality. In fact I'm quite positive by nature.

Fact is, any fool with basic intelligence could forecast this. Politicians need not apply here. It's basic economics, simple science and plain old maths. Just observe what businesses and banks and governments are doing and take a reality check. The whole system runs on BS (that's right...old fashioned bullshit!). Sorry about the language but it's a fact.

Everything that's been going on over the past few years (some say decades) is either junk economics or simply unsustainable. It's not rocket science but why are so many of us blind or fooled by the media and the big boys. Anyway back to the headline...

I read something fascinating and utterly amazing the other day.

Did you know there were something like 19 million unoccupied or unsold homes in the good old U.S of A!!!

That is astounding in any one's language.

To get this into perspective, that's almost the entire population of Australia, swimming over to America, finding the Promised Land and every single man, woman and child getting a house each to live in! The numbers are staggering.

What does this mean? Well...it's not looking good.
